Hendry. He was a Florida cattleman who had one of the first registered cattle brands in the state. My grandfather, Joe Jr., followed in his footsteps and was a cattle rancher as well. As a child, I often visited the family ranch. My grandfather, like my great-grandfather, eagerly shared his vast knowledge of cattle and the cattle industry.

I learned how such things as selective breeding, use of specialized feeds, and proper treatment of the animals effects meat quality. I have utilized this knowledge while spending many years searching for the highest quality meats available. While doing so, I have had the opportunity to establish relationships with ranchers all over the country. I appreciate their great efforts in raising the healthiest and best meat producing live-stock possible. These ranchers are allowing me to offer such wonderful items as all natural, vegetarian fed, hormone and antibiotic free beef, pork, bison and more. The quality standards they adhere to help make our products some of the best meat products you could ever have the opportunity to enjoy. At J.B. Hendry , not only do we start with superior meats, but we then add over 40 years of experience in properly handling, trimming and portioning those meats, to create the best steaks possible.

In 1966, my step-father, who had 25 years of industry experience himself, established one of the highest quality independent wholesale meat companies in Florida. I came to work for him in 1978. I became President of the company when he retired in 1990. During the many years I have been working in this industry I have taken all that my great-grandfather, grandfather and step-father have taught me and have held to standards that would make them all proud. I am now fortunate enough to pass down our family tradition and knowledge to my own son, as we continue to provide excellent service and premium products to some of the finest steakhouses and gourmet restaurants.
